About Sagal
Sagal was raised in Camden. Now she is raising hope in Camden too.
Camden gave Sagal a home. She came to Camden as a child refugee and will always be grateful for the opportunity to build a life, serve the community and become who she is today. She has dedicated her life to repaying this opportunity through public service.
Sagal is currently the Leader of Camden council and has represented Camden Square Ward since 2022. She has spent 20 years volunteering in the community here.
Sagal’s priorities for Camden
If elected, her priorities from day one will be:
- Clearing up the mess and more public control of essential services – including holding Thames Water to account.
- Working with the Prime Minister to end rough sleeping in Camden, by offering a bed to anyone that needs one by Christmas
- Giving all young people hope and access to better paid jobs through new training opportunities at Capital City College and Euston Skills Hub.
The cost of living
That’s something Sagal feels really strongly about. As leader of the council she has funded the Camden Advice Service for people in need, and supported families through local grants.
Clean Streets
Sagal got another £1 million invested in street care services because she’s on the side of residents who care about where they live.
Antisocial Behaviour and Crime
We’ve got 565 new police officers for London between March 2025 – April 2026. Sagal will push for more here in our communities.
Housing
Sagal actually led Camden’s housing work – she’s committed to ending homelessness and secured £670 million for improving lcoal homes.

Jobs and Opportunities
Sagal talks passionately about where you start not determining where you end up – she wants more funding to go into local training so people here can access better paid jobs.

Climate
Sagal knows that clean, homegrown power offers the best chance for energy security.
Labour has already secured enough clean homegrown energy to power 23 million homes, Sagal wants this for everyone in Camden – especially people struggling with energy bills.
Gaza
We have called out ethnic cleansing by the settler terrorists in the West Bank, the evidence of war crimes and the Israeli government’s illegal occupation of Palestine. Those words are matched with actions: Banning import of goods from and disrupting supply lines to those illegal settlements. Nobody should be in any doubt about our condemnation of the Israeli government’s actions. Our argument is not with the people of Israel, but with the actions of its government. We will always recognise the threats Israel faces, stand emphatically against those who seek its destruction, and stand against antisemitism wherever we find it. A two-state solution must be the priority.
